Christine Claringbold
I started painting in 1994, and Eye Pop Art was launched in 2003. I love to design mandalas and paint them on recycled vinyl records, which I transform into clocks, bowls, mirrors, jewelry, and more.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, riding my bike, hiking and camping around beautiful Oregon, and collecting vintage psychedelic housewares (mainly coffee cups). For fun I like to dress up and rock out with the band, Dartgun & the Vignettes.
I began painting murals in 1997, and the interior of my Portland home, adorned with psychedelic mandalas on walls and ceilings, has been featured on HGTV's "Look What I Did." I have also appeared on a holiday episode of HGTV's "That's Clever!"
My professional experience includes 6 years as the program coordinator for the nonprofit organization Trillium Artisans, and many years teaching classes through local schools, SUN programs, and art studios. I also teach Etsy classes for artists interested in learning how to launch an online business.
Currently I am volunteering for the Portland Women's Crisis Line and taking classes at Portland Community College.
